What has been your biggest accomplishment since working with Leadership Resources?

The biggest accomplishment that I have obtained thus far in the program is a very exciting one -- It had always been my thought that if you weren’t pounding away on the keyboard, taking a phone call, or walking around…you weren’t truly working.  The concept of taking time to sit down and plan sounds so elementary but when put in to action, it has amazing rewards.  When you have actual uninterrupted time to plan you would be amazed at what your mind can accomplish!  I had a challenge going into my first planning session of how to continue to engage a top performer that has been at Centris for a long time.  I came up with a way to incorporate my high payoff activities and a little delegation to keep this person challenged.  Their assignment was to come up with three businesses that they wanted to visit and why, and then we would talk about them in our next coaching session.  This person was very excited for the challenge and actually surpassed my expectations.   To make a long story short, this employee ended up landing a very large business partner for the credit union that will benefit the whole organization and several different departments.  This shows the power of something as simple as planning.  If one planning session could result in something this great, what other hidden potential does my team and I have that has not even been tapped? I am very excited to continue down this road to success and am very grateful for what leadership Resources has taught me.

How has this impacted the people you work with, your family, etc?

This accomplishment has impacted several people.  First, it has made the top performer more engaged in the workplace and has given them a sense of accomplishment.  Second, it has spurred on my coworkers to think outside of the box in their positions - they have actually asked for greater challenges! (I will be instituting goal setting for each of them).  Third, it will impact the other departments that may see in an increase in sales from this contact.  And last, it has impacted me, personally, which I am truly grateful for.  It has given me a renewed excitement for my job, and a sense of accomplishment. It has also challenged me to think of other ways I can incorporate planning in my personal life.

This is just one of the many accomplishments I have had in this program.  This program allows you to take a step back and re-evaluate how you do your job and run your life.  It is not always easy to put these ideas into practice, but it is worth it once you do!
